The Covid-19 pandemic, coupled with working from home, has brought about significant challenges to the mental health of staff, including:
- Increased stress and anxiety as everyone deals with the pandemic in their own way, magnified by the persistently negative newsflow we are exposed to on a daily basis
- Remaining focused, engaged and present is difficult when working in the same space you live in. Distractions are more abundant, it is hard to remember to take periodic breaks to re-boot, and switching off from work at the end of the day is often a blurry line – making it harder to relax and recover
- Reduced social interaction is a barrier to team cohesion and a sense of corporate belonging, which traditionally the workplace provided in many different ways (for example, team gatherings and other workplace-sponsored events)
Fruitful Office’s Healthy Mind plan provides, in partnership with Breathworks, three LIVE 15 minute guided breathing and mindfulness training sessions every week for your staff.
- It is a cost-effective way to promote ongoing mental health, especially during these particular challenging and uncertain times:
- Regular sessions help reduce stress and anxiety, increase mental clarity and energize and help you reboot
- Staff will feel thankful to their employer, and engaged – more able to cope with daily challenges and be more productive at their job
- Helps employers take a proactive approach with their duty of care for the mental health of their staff
- Breathworks is a founding member of the British Association of Mindfulness-Based Approaches (BAMBA), alongside Bangor and Oxford Universities, and has been developing programs for 20 years
Sessions are LIVE because:
- Staff are more likely to join a defined, and limited in time, event which is unique to participants at the moment of delivery
- Attending a LIVE session generates a sense of community and social interaction
- Interaction is possible through text messages and Q&A’s at the end of certain sessions
Sessions are held on YouTube Live on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 10.30am (and are available online until the next session), and involve:
- Guided breathing and meditation
- Gentle at-desk stretches and tension relief
- Session key training takeaway
